Orders of Battle and War Establishments Main Page
Canadian Orders of Battle and War Establishments of the Second World War era. These contain most of the combat arms and many of the supporting services from regimental size downward. The list is not complete by any means.
Canadian Orders of Battle and War Establishments of the Cold War Era. Many of these documents reflect proposed units rather than actual units and are equipped with equipment never on Canadian strength. It is an interesting to take a look at what the military minds of the day thought would be necessary to oppose the Communist Hordes!
Russian Orders of Battle include coverage of six different years from immediately post-war to 1984. Whereas some Canadian war establishments are almost 'pie in the sky', most Russian orders became very real indeed. It is a very interesting to see the mix-and-match marrying equipment from the war with the latest in technology to try and overcome the NATO lead in the arms race. It is easy to see the gradual firming up of more modern equipment and the discard of the old as Russian mass production amassed the numbers they deemed necessary only to see those numbers also fall away to old age and the need for even newer technology.
This will provide my legend for all Canadian vehicles from the Second World War to modern. Many vehicles represent a specific type (eg. Heavy Wrecker) rather than a specific vehicle so read carefully.
This will provide my Russian vehicle legend covering all eras from WW2 onward. All vehicles are drawn to the same scale for an accurate representation of their size. This one is a necessity unless you are (or in my case 'was') in the Intelligence business.
