Vehicle Studies / Leopard C1 |
|
For this first offering in the new series of Armoured Acorn, I thought I'd present the Leopard C1 as the topic. I have no intention of giving the history of this vehicle here but only to present a visual presentation for the modeller and researcher. The Leopard shown was photographed at Lahr, West Germany in 1986 (I believe) following its return from the German factory following the update to three tone cam from the monotone that had been the norm. I think this was the first vehicle to return, but I could be wrong. At this time the Royal Canadian Dragoons were the armoured regiment in 4 Canadian mechanized Brigade but this vehicle has not been adorned with any markings other than the Canadian maple leaf on the turret. I have tried to present a full walk around showing all details possible. Unless you, the reader, indicate a preference for the next vehicle, I shall continue to indulge my own whims. - Barry Beldam
